Master Geppetto, a carpenter, wants to own a puppet that can walk, fence, and leap. He succeeds in creating one and names it Pinocchio. Pinocchio soon learns to walk and he decides to escape. A carabiniere catches him and returns him to Master Geppetto. But upon hearing many negative things about Master Geppetto, the carabiniere decides to put Master Geppetto in prison and frees Pinocchio. Pinocchio goes home, and finding nothing to eat, repents his action. Upon seeing Master Geppetto again, he promises to become a good and obedient boy. But it seems everywhere he goes, temptation follows; and being overly curious and mischievous, he commits mistakes one after the other. He later realizes his many faults and makes a promise again to correct the error of his ways. The Fairy, seeing that he has changed, rewards him and turns him into a real boy. |
