Babcock-Hitachi K.K. has developed and commercialize a new flue gas treatment system targeting at, in particular, exhaust combustion gas generated by coal boilers. This system, comprising the ESP, FGD and GGH is registered as Patent No. 2573589 in Japan. Following describes features and technical contents of this new system. The non-leakage gas-gas heater located at upstream the dry ESP (dry EP) lowers the temperature at the dry EP inlet to 90 to 100°C (it was used 130 to 140°C) and, thereby, lowers electric resistance of dust. This arrangement has succeeded in increasing dust collecting efficiency of the dry EP and reducing its capacity. Increased efficiency of the dry EP results in increase in purity of due to reduced dust concentration flowing into FGD. Since dust elimination performance of the total exhaust processing system is enhanced, concentration of dust emitted from the chimney is reduced as well. Lowered exhaust gas temperature enables to downsize as well as cut the power consumption of the induced-draft fan (IDF) for boiler exhaust gas upstream.
